What a ‘Star’…
I recently visited Starbank Park in Edinburgh to meet with the Friends of Starbank Park group and hear all about their fundraising efforts.
The group have done extremely well in securing funding for various projects including a Children's Nature Trail which they are currently fundraising for. They have already secured 55% of the funds for the project and have begun work on the fairy-tale inspired trail which they are working on in partnership with Victoria Primary School.
The group is fundraising for the rest of the project with a crowdfunding campaign on MyParkScotland, here's the link for further information and to donate.

Twelve participants came along to the 'Make it Happen' session and took inspiration from the fundraising efforts of the Fire Station Creative who have transformed the disused iconic building, which dates back to 1934, into an art gallery and artist studios with a fabulous cafe.

All of the participants took part in a 'pitch your project' exercise to practice putting across their project ideas to funders such as companies, major donors and charitable trusts.

Every Heritage Organisation Needs a Fundraising Strategy
We were in Glasgow last week for the last of the summer's training events - 'Planning to Progress: Glasgow'.
We had a fantastic time at the Albany Leaning and Conference Centre with participants from Sustrans, greenspace scotland, DigIt 2015!, Logie Old Graveyard Group, Wildside Scotland and Museums Galleries Scotland. Thanks to all who took part.
The course includes an overview of why a fundraising strategy is so important and where it fits into an organisation's overall plan. The most popular parts of the course involve a walk through analysis tools to help heritage groups and organisations to prioritise which fundriasing methods to focus ...
