Training & Events

Resourcing Scotland’s Heritage is delivering a series of training courses and events across Scotland. The venues for each of the events will be based on demand for the courses and travel bursaries are available to support your attendance.

We have two main training courses and a series of ‘In Focus’ events.  For further information on the courses please read our full course descriptions for  ‘Fundraising: Make it Happen’, ‘Fundraising: Planning to Progress’ and the ‘In Focus’ sessions.

Inspiring Fundraising: a National Heritage Conference

Inspiring Fundraising is Scotland’s national fundraising conference specifically dedicated to the heritage sector.

By attending the conference, you will have a unique opportunity to learn from leading professionals in their specialist fields to help you overcome your fundraising challenges and set you on your journey to reaching your aspirations and targets.

Inspiring Fundraising will also provide you with a motivational space to develop new ideas and new ways of working and the chance to engage with more than 200 peers from different heritage organisations from across Scotland and beyond.

You will have the opportunity learn from fantastic Speakers such as Lucy Gower director and founder at Lucidity & Richard Radcliffe legacy and fundraising expert.

Our In Focus Sessions will provide a holistic understanding of a diverse range of fundraising tools and techniques through presentations, panel discussions and interactive engagement. These session have been desigened to cater for the training needs of the sector based on the evaluation of the RSH programme and will exlpore topics such as Financing and Growing Your Community Heritage Project Through Community SharesThe Power of Business & Cultural Partnerships or The voice of the funders.

Resourcing Scotland’s Heritage is a four year programme led by Arts & Business Scotland with Archaeology Scotland, Built Environment Forum Scotland, greenspace scotland and Museums Galleries Scotland. The programme is funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund Catalyst grants to deliver a capacity building programme for heritage organisations across Scotland. Resourcing Scotland’s Heritage is the first fully co-ordinated sector specific training and network strengthening programme to provide Scotland’s diverse heritage sector with the vital tools it needs to increase funds from private sources.

The Heritage Lottery Fund Catalyst programme, which includes £8.5million of endowment grants and £3.8million to help build fundraising capacity, is designed to help organisations diversify their income streams, attract significantly more funding by increasing their fundraising potential and help them to develop and explore innovative approaches to securing private donations
