Training & Events
Resourcing Scotland’s Heritage is delivering a series of training courses and events across Scotland. The venues for each of the events will be based on demand for the courses and travel bursaries are available to support your attendance.
Are you ready to take part in a Resourcing Scotland’s Heritage training course? Our training is best suited to registered charities and constituted community groups. Take a walk through our simple question and answer page to determine which course is right for you. For further information on setting up a charity in Scotland please see the OSCR website.
We have two main training courses and a series of ‘In Focus’ events. For further information on the courses please read our full course descriptions for ‘Fundraising: Make it Happen’, ‘Fundraising: Planning to Progress’ and the ‘In Focus’ sessions.
If you are interested in any particular event or fundraising topic please do get in touch – we may be able to bring an event to your area info@scotheritage.org.
Please register for the events you would like to attend below. We ask that no more than two representatives from each organisation attend an event. Please note a nominal attendance fee is charged for each of the events.

Development Forum: GDPR / A Cultural Strategy for Scotland
October 26, 2017 @ 2:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Registration 14:30 | Event 15:00 – 18:30
Arts & Business Scotland invites you to join us at our next Development Forum. The event will feature two Topics in Focus: General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Scottish Government’s A Culture Strategy for Scotland. This event is held in partnership with the Resourcing Scotland’s Heritage (RSH) project.
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will have a significant impact on how cultural organisations deal with personal data, particularly in the context of fundraising and marketing. Individuals will have more rights and businesses will have more obligations to ensure data privacy. Getting it wrong could result in significant fines of up £17million. In our first session, Laura Irvine, BTO Solicitors and Fraser Nicol, Scott-Moncrieff will talk you through the significant changes required to ensure compliance by May 2018.
Scottish Government is developing A Culture Strategy for Scotland, proposing the principles of access, equity and excellence. In our second session, a representative from the Scottish Government will share the progress to date, enabling attendees to contribute to the consultation and feedback process. This will be a vital session for those who access cultural activity and those with an interest in developing our approach to culture, who are crucial to the development of the strategy.
Tea/coffee provided. The talks are followed by an informal wine, soft drinks and networking session.
